In Praise of Felicity

A great international honor was bestowed in 1998 upon the Town of Felicity by Ambassador Jean-Marie Daillet of France – La Medaille des Affaires Etrangeres, the medal of the State Department of France.

The Board of Supervisors of Imperial County has frequently singled the town for recognition. National and international publicity has included articles in National Geographic, Town & Country, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and scores of publications.

In addition to TV reports in 100 countries over the years, the town was filmed recently by the Discovery Channel.

Information about the Mayor of Felicity is found in Who's Who in America.

And, with pleasure, we quote:

"You have beaten all of us to the ultimate idea." Edward Tenner, Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton NJ

"I thought I was at the center of the world, now you have disillusioned me. With felicitations." Paul A. Volcker, Chairman, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

"Be assured of my prayerful best wishes that Felicity will continue to prosper." John Cardinal O’Connor, Archbishop of New York

"nothing to rival Felicity's truly breathtaking ascension to the Center of the World." Edward I. Koch, Mayor, The City of New York

"May this global recognition long enrich and enhance your city and its people." Pete Wilson, United States Senator
